How do I do it? And what is the proper tom to set it at? Sticking down from in between your carbs, is a black, star-shaped adjuster that adjusts the idle speed. Turn it one way or the other to adjust the idle. ONLY adjust the idle when the bike is FULLY WARMED, with NO choke on! Idle speed should be 1,200 RPM's when the bike is warm, no choke. Adjust the idle, then blip your throttle a couple times, to make sure the adjustment is correct, as sometimes some slack builds up in the cables. Usually you have to get to the adjuster from the right side of the bike. Clockwise, I believe, raises the idle.

Curious... how many minutes is a reasonable amount of time for the bike to warm up?

Varies by what the temp is...usually 5 minutes is plenty......warm weather, less.
