My 85 was just dropped off today. It had a no starting issue. After discovering that the battery tender was wired backwards, I charged the battery.(Very Low) Still no start. After some checking it seems the side kickstand switch is intermittent. After playing with it for a bit the bike fired right up. Can this switch be jumped out or do I need to replace it.

It is adjustable...likely just knocked out of adjustment. I can be bypassed by plugging they two wires together, just don't forget to raise the sides tand before riding off.

I don't see any adjustment. There is a bolt holding on the cover and it fastens with two phillips-head screws. I ripped into the front brake system today and found the master cylinder and front caliper need to be rebuilt. I found a kit for the caliper but no luck with the MC. If anyone has any ideas where to get one I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you for the help with the stand switch.

Under the cover, you will see that the switch is held on to a bracket, with a plastic nut on each side of the bracket....the way the switch is adjusted to make proper contact with the side stand, is loosening the nuts ad scooting the switch either forward or backward to position the switch, and tightening the nuts to hold it in place. Ebay is a good source for the master cylinder kit. The plunger on the switch contacts the side stand when in the down position, pushing the plunger in...when the sidestand is put up in the ridind position, the switch plunger extends out. The switch is actually just a simple "grounding switch".
