So, the bike wasnt running the best (still ridable) but was hard starting and would stumble between 4 and 5k so I decided to tear into the carbs and clean em good. Set the idle screws at 2.5 and reinstalled now the bike is runnig rich as heck on the left cylinder, missing and Backfiring, (sooty black left plug in less then a minute, right side is clean) the right cylinder seams to be ok. I have no power and the motor will all but die when put into gear, though now she starts almost instantly. Its idling at 3-4k with the choke on and 1500 with no choke. Any thoughts on this? Im thinking maybe a issue with the floats?

When Valves are to tight does it throw off the timing? Because if so then Eagle is right on the money.

If the engine is assembled right, the cam chain set right, then the timing is right...it does not change unless you break the cam chain. Those that have limited on no mechanical experience cannot understand this. However, the valve adjustment has everything to do with how, or even if the engine runs. This engine requires good valve adjustments....it is not self adjusting like most cars are today.

I was just curios because the symptoms of tight valves and slightly off timing consist of backfiring from what I have experienced this year.
