Has anyone attempted to add an abs system to their 454? I've looked up a few systems and it seems like they only work with hydraulics like on the front wheel and not on mechanical systems like on the back wheel. Is this type of mod even possible or worth the effort and expense?
Thanks!

Even ABS on the front would be a wasted expense, IMO. I don't disagree with the manufacturers wanting to move forward with the technology on the bikes, however; to me they are trying to take away a skill that you should be learning anyway. Braking. Riding a motorcycle should be taken with the utmost seriousness. And be serious about learning and maintaining those skills. Get to know the limits of your brakes at different speeds, and the limits of the bike itself. The more you know the limits of the bike and the brakes, the better able you are to deal with hairy situations; it could literally save your life. Nothing kills me more than seeing a bad/new/dumb rider, and then look on the back of their bike and see a passenger. They haven't taken the time to learn the skills, and then they are going to put another person's life in serious jeopardy?? Or people that ride just because they think it's cool; and never even want to learn the skills. As long as they can ride in a straight line, they think they're ok. Oh, and then those people have passengers... (Sorry, that last part was a personal rant. )

I totally understand. I think every friend I have has been bugging me to give them a ride on the bike and I keep telling them no because I simply don't have the skills yet. I know my limits, now I just need to figure out the bike's.
Thanks!

Sent from my One using proboards Once you get your skills up, if you wanna carry a passenger; you should also practice those same skills with a passenger. I've got a passenger that loves to ride, and she is also willing to practice with me. If your passenger is willing to put their life in your hands at higher speeds, they shouldn't have any problem doing it at parking lot speeds. For me, the bike rides much better with a passenger, but that's just my opinion. And don't let anyone tell you the 454 doesn't have enough power to ride 2-up; that's just pure nonsense.

Excellent advice. I had not thought about practicing with a passenger, but it makes sense.
