Turning steering lock on makes rear lights go on

Hello

 I'm very new here and the search didn't help me with the issue.
 I bought 454ltd as my first bike. And I'm not very experienced when it comes to fixing any vehicles.

The problem is that every time I turn the steering wheel lock on, the rear lights (brake and licence plate) turn on and won't turn off.
Is this normal? Is it meant to be some kind of a stop light when parking in restricted area or is it rather an electrical issue?


It is also very hard to get the lock off also. I think I'm not going to use it right now, because I don't have any spare keys yet.

This is normal when the key is in the "Park" position.But there should one before that "Park" which locks the forks.If your switch is dirty & sticky it may be hard find & skip right to the "park" position which will turn the rear lights on.
