Hi Guys, So I replaced all 4 rotted and broken directionals and wired them up to what I though was right. I hit the switch and they came on but didnt flash. I tapped the relay with a wrench and it flashed once. I knew the relay was toast. So I searched ebay for a 454LTD flasher relay and bought the one with free shipping lol. I opened the box and it looked like the exact same one that was already one the bike. The box says its a Emgo Part#66-86752 (CP-90) 12v/23w 2-pin. so I replaced it and the rear ones flash great. the front ones are bright but dont flash at all. I took off the headlight and because they are 3 wire turn signals i tried every combo with the wires I could think of and they still dont flash. some combos are dim and some are bright. did I get the wrong relay? Any Ideas?
Thanks Dan

Any automotive flasher will work a electronic one is great for LED's.The front are 3 wire because you have both running lights & signals on the front.I would try another flasher to rule it out.

yeah they are on and nice and bright. The wires on the new turn signals were red, black with a stripe, and black. I couldnt find any easy instructions and im pretty bad with wires so i just connected the red one to the blue one from the bike. the black with stripe i connected to the striped one from the bike and the solid black one i think i connected to the green one from the bike. I have since tried a few different combos with the wires and they still wont flash. wires make me crazy.

Def sounds like your wires are wrong. One thing I can say is if your fronts are real bright then you have the blinker wire hooked up as the running light. The light should be on but not overly bright. The 2nd filament is a little brighter than the first. I will see if I can find the diagram j have for the wiring when I get home. Then you can get the correct wires. You can do a Google sea RCH for 1989 Kawasaki 454 wiring diagram and should get several results. When I first replaced mine I had the same issue. I put front signals on the rear so there are more lights in the back. I wired the running light to the tail light wire (not the brake light wire.)

I just turned the key to the on position and began moving the wires around until it worked. Sent from my HTC One using proboards

heck yeah! I figured it out! First I figured out I had the front set wired to the wrong sides. I then tried different combos with the wires till I figured it all out. Rights side is: red to gray, black/white to black/yellow, black to blue. Left side: red to green, black/white to black/yellow, black to blue! All turn signals and running lights working great with both the mechanical and electronic flasher relays! Thanks for all the help on this issue!!
