Hey all, I just joined this forum a few weeks ago because my buddy pretty much gave me his 454 to learn how to ride and practice on in the short term. I had my first real lesson with him today. It was a great time. He's says it’s a great bike to learn how to ride on and if I can master this bike, then it’ll be much easier to get comfortable and pick up on riding sport bikes. During today’s lesson I learned about all the odds and ends to the bike. I learned how to get comfortable with the friction zone and riding and turning in gear one so far. The lesson was going pretty awesome and I was learning a ton. Until I experienced my third drop and unfortunately broke the right driver’s side foot peg. . SO, I am now on here just asking for some general advice about this bike and learning how to ride and also seeking a potential replacement for that right drivers foot peg. Anyone have any extras lying around i can purchase before I hit the "black market" on the internet (EBAY) lol. Thanks for viewing my post!

In my newbie experience, unless you are very very smooth on the throttle, first gear is the hardest. My 454 is a lot smoother and more manageable at low speeds in second gear, I would get it moving then click up and see how it behaves. Sorry to hear about the broken peg, I would be sick.
