Hi, picked up an 86 454 ltd from an auction recently and have been trying to get her going. Bike would crank and no start at first, checked for spark, good. Checked fuel comes out of the petcock with vacuum applied, ok. Pulled off carbs, checked and they were moving ok and all clean inside. reinstalled carbs, still just crank and no start. The last time I was working on it I saw a couple sparks shoot out around the battery area. Now when I turn the key on I have nothing at all, no lights, no nothing. That includes with a good battery charger hooked up and running. I have checked the fuses, all ok. Battery cables are ok and tight. I havent undone any electrical connectors at all on it and am a little bit lost as to what I may have done to stop all the electronics on it from working all of a sudden. Thanks for any advice ya have.

Did you check the master fuse under the seat too or just the ones on the front of the bike?

Main fuse is good, continuity through the wire is good. Are you talkin about the ground that is under the seat right by the cdi box? That wire also has good continuity to the ground at battery.
