Hi, This is my first post here, just looking for some help I purchased a 1989 en450 last year. I had noticed twoard the end of the season that one of the cyliders wasnt firing all the time. This year I had the carbs cleaned and rebuilt and replaced the plugs and im still having the issue. When I give it gas it hesitates before reving up, Ive double checked that I have spark. Also even after warming up going from nuetral to first and releasing the clutch kills it. Hoping someone can help me so I dont have to take it to a shop for a diagnostic and pay out the Donkey. Thanks!

My 89 has also fallen ill with a similar ailment. It's down on power and #2 is late to start firing after a cold start. There's 8000 on the clock, and I'm betting the valves have never been adjusted. I picked up a compression gauge, so when I get time and get off of my Concours, I'll do some compression testing, then I'm going in for my first ever motorcycle valve adjustment. I'll post back on the results. I'll probably find #2 to be way down on compression. The 454 and the Connie have very similar engines, and they have the same carbs, so work on one will help me with the other

I have a similar problem, however, there is only a misfire with right cylinder when the bike is warm. It's not a cool because they have been replaced and it is only 1 cylinder when warm, but when it cools down there is no problem until it becomes warm again. Anything anyone has heard of? Thank you
