Wondering if anyone has installed a GPS onto their 454. If yes, which make & model of GPS, and which vehicle wiring did you tap into? Any photos of the install/wiring and final product?

You can get a handlebar mount for the hand-held GPS units, and just wire in a cig lighter outlet for power. Pretty simple...many wire one in to charge/power their cell phones.

Thanks. I can figure it out easy enough (I have a GPS w/mount and I'm good at wiring) - I ike to see other peoples' solutions sometimes; gives me more ideas to work with. One of the things I was wondering is which specific GPS unit, because I wanted to hear if somebody found one that can handle moisture well (unexpedted rainstorm while driving?), and where exactly they mounted it so it was usable but not a danger to driving, that sort of stuff.

One of our members used his smart phone with a speedo app, and I think, had the GPS on it also. I cannot remember who it was right now..(darn old age)!! LOL He set it up where he did not leave it on the bike.

That smartphone thing sounds like a good idea (except for a rainstorm while riding - or if it falls off its mount!). I have an old iPhone 3GS and I don't think it has GPS capabilities - if it does, the screen is too small for my old eyes anyway. I'd have to set up a dedicated GPS unit I think. My 17yo son, who this bike is hopefully going to go to soon enough, has some direction-finding challenges and as I learned with the car after he got his license, giving him a mounted GPS unit really helps him get around, and get home. And to 'almost' get home ON TIME lol
