Hey guys, sorry if this is a double post. But today I'm having some trouble getting my bike to start. I replaced my rear turn signals and battery but now it seems like I have no power at the starter button. I took the assembly apart and found it was heavily corroded and the cone spring was flat. I lightly sanded the connecting points and replaced the cone with a new one cut to size. It was a pain in the Donkey getting it all back in with the new spring. But I put it back together and it started first try. I let it run for about 15 minutes and then turn it off to see if I can get it to start again. It doesn't start but has power to blinkers and tach lights.
My guess is I need a new starter assembly/button thing. Can any1 give me the proper name of the part I need? Or confirm or deny my diagnosis? Can I use parts from a newer bike?
Thx in advance for the help or advice

If interested-I can tell you how to test with a meter so you can be positive before spending cash.
If you do need one and don't mind used-i have a good one would be willing to let go cheap or trade. I replaced my controls with aftermarket aluminum.

I replaced my controls with aftermarket aluminum. Can you share a link to where I can buy a set myself?

Mine was doing this. I cleaned the push button and didn't work.... Here's the trick that worked for me... Turn the key to on. Then pass on to the P on the right .... Then back to on ... And try ... That works for me.. After a few times it started to work normal

Key won't pass the "on" state. Even if I press down, it won't go all the way to the "P".

Sounds like you have a bad ignition switch.

Yes, I have to move the key between "off" and "on" and press the start button, to get it to start.
