I need to change the transmission output seal on my '85 en450. I have the service manual, but that specific procedure isn't mentioned. I'm not sure if I need to split something apart or if I can just pop out the old seal after the pulley is off and then pop in the new one. Could anyone clarify which route I should take?

After re-examining the situation, it looks like I'll have to split the case. The seal is much too hard to just pop out.

With a small flathead screwdriver at a 45, I was able to puncture the bad seal and pop it out. Then I gently and evenly tapped in the new one without a problem.

I'm glad it worked out without too much drama and thanks for continuing to post on here and sharing your experience (this will no doubt save me a headache in the future) ?
