hello everyone i just bought my first 454 its an 86 and i woke up this morning went to the garage and smelled gas so i walked up to the bike and it was leaking out of the carbs i think it is the petcock because its not supposed to let fuel flow without the bike being on due to the fact it is vacuume actuated but i had it left on pri because the fuel line would have air bubbles in it while the petcock was put to on so i probably have to rebuild the carbs.. i would apreciate any advice or for someone to assure me that i need a petcock or if you think i should clean my tank also thankyou to anyone who helps.

Stuck float would be one line of enquiry but you probably want to get those carbs out for a rebuild anyway.

If you left it on "Pei" fuel can flo at any time without vacuum & the carbs cant hold back the flo.Check your oil & change if you have any fuel in it.Try with the petcock "on" fuel flows with vacuum....That may be your only problem that you left it in "Pri"

Is a hydrolocked engine a possibility here? My Concours has the same Keihin CV32 carburetors, their owners group constantly issues dire warnings about bent rods due to cranking the engine with a cylinder with liquid fuel in it. I'd be very wary before trying to start this engine again.
