Hello so when i got this bike it initaly wouldn't start without being jumped. After I ride it for a little while usually I can cold start it but its very weak. Today though it barely starts but then dies. When jumping it the starter cranks a lot faster then on its own. Any ideas or can someone forward me to what I can check?

What condition (adjustment) are the valves....battery condition??

The battery is new but has slight corrosion from rain. The bike was running fine 2 days ago. A couple things ive tried/tested are that I've removed the battery and hooked a car battery up to the bike and it will start but won't stay running. Also when it was running I hooked a multimeter to the battery and it idled at 12.8 but when revved would drop in the 10s. I've tried testing the stator but I dont know what would be considered a good reading for our bikes. Also I've tried testing the regulator because that's what i strongly believe the issue may be but i don't know if I'm doing it correctly

The valves I have yet to mess with but the bike has 10000 miles so I'm sure it wouldn't hurt

From your information, the bike is not charging.....which means either the regulator or (hopefully not) the stator. the magnets in the flywheel have a reputation of breaking, and causing reduced or no charging current. Only way to check this is removal of the stator cover (shifter side of the engine) to look at the flywheel. Hopefully, this is not the problem, as this requires replacement of the flywheel, and possibly, the stator itself, as it cand be damaged when the magnet shatters into pieces (happened to me).

I'll open it up possibly tomorrow and check but my bets on the regulator if it is the stator though I got a spare one with the bike.

Well I put a new regulator in and the bike started running on its own again but after about 2 days the regulator failed so I think I may have an issue that's causing the bike to blow regulators. I have not taken off the stator cover because the bike started charging at 14.8 volts at idle. I'm not sure what these bikes are supposed to charge at idle

With the first one it charged at 10.5 ish with the new one it charged I. The 14s. Is it possible the stator could be causing it to overcharge? Or the ground for the regulator?

Well I may have found the problem. I got the new regulator so I went to put it on and saw that the female pin for the regulator was pulled out a bit so it probably wasnr grounding properly. And the battery I have now I spilled fluid out of when I loaded it into my truck(it came with a cheap ever start battery from Walmart) so towmorrow I'm doing a valve adjust installing a 220 amp agm battery taking the stator cover off to inspect there and running new ground wires where I'm able to. Wish me luck!

Well the bikes DOA a the moment. I dropped one of the pins from the valve cover down in the block and I thought it was stopping the crank from turning so I rotated it clock wise and counter clockwise to try and free it. Well I guess in doing that it messed up the timing causing the camshaft to split a rocker in half. So now I have to wait and replace a rocker arm now
