Then you need to remove the carbs, disassemble completely (do not separate the carbs) and clean all orfices very good, by using fine wire to make sure all gunk is out.

Did anyone figure out what it was? I'm in the process of going threw these steps and it is on pods. Just curious after I do all this and the problem is still there.

Will it free rev up over 6 grand. Without it sounding like its gonna explode. I had my needles sticking. With pods you have to cut the springs in the diaphragm. To allow needles to come up. I also shimmed them. I cut like 4 or more coils off. o also went to 145 main jets. I have a thread called no top end. Bike should free rev up to 11 grand and before it starts sounding dangerous. Let the bike warm up good before u try this.

Make sure to check any place that air can leak into the carbs. I did a valve job and tried three different ecms before I figured this one out. the crank case recirc valve - that round thing stuck on top of the engine with all the hoses- gets old and starts to leak air. It has a hose going to the right side carb and when it goes bad you loose vacuum in the carb and the right cylinder cant draw in enough fuel. Hence the dead cylinder. Get a rubber vacuum cap to put over the hose connection on the carb and let someone else save the planet. The other thing to check is the idle adjustment screws. By now most people have drilled out the factory caps and removed the needle valves to clean them. If you haven't done that yet and your bike idles poorly that is the fix. The o rings on those needle valves may not seat properly and you will have another air leak. My bike wouldn't even start and when I sealed the needle valves it started right up. I used plumbers thread tape on the screw threads and it worked great. Dont use gasket sealer or any type of paste, it could get sucked up into the jet and clog it. Now that I have the carbs sealed up my bike is scary fast. Anyone need a used ecm? Correction, the round thing with the hoses is a suction valve that pushes fresh air into the exhaust stream to reduce emissions.
