So I have had my 454 for about three years now. Its my only bike i'v ever worked on and have actually never had to put to much work into it except for the occasional valve adjustment. So I have always had problems with the air filters and getting them to stay in. So today after owning and riding this bike for three years I have found out that my bike is missing pieces, the "Caps" for the Air intake box that hold the the filters in. I know air flow is a big deal on these bikes so maybe a previous owner took them off on purpose.
What I need to know is if it is better to not have them and try to find a better way to jimmy rig the filters on, switch to pod filters (something I have been hesitant too due with the many warnings I have read on this site), or buy new caps? (which I have been unable to even find over the last few hours on the internet.)
Thanks in advance to any help or advice! This site has been a god send since day one of owning my 454!

The caps just hold the filters in place if you can think of keeping the filters in place all good.....Just remember if you shift to pods you will need to rejet.
