I have the stock airbox with all the bits to it. No air leaks (I think, all seals around the carbs have good contact) But the only way I can get the bike to fire up is if I remove one of the airbox intakes (held in place with the piece of snap wire) and completely block the filter. This draws more air into the other side increasing the vacuum? So I get more gas? Guy at my local bike shop recommend trying it and it works but there's something not right if I have to do this? I've sprayed carb cleaner down every possible point in the carbs (after removing everything rubber from them) Could it be a jet issue? I'm just stumped??? Thanks in advance guys!

Same hot or cold.......If only when cold it's a choke/enricher problem.

Sounds to me like there are some orfices in the carb (s) clogged. Sometimes, just spraying down good with cleaner is not enough.

I took the carbs completely apart. And had them soak in liquid carb cleaner for two hours. Started right up. I sprayed so much cleaner round those carbs but the only thing that worked was a soak in liquid carb cleaner.

I was amazed myself to see how much crud remains after using branded carb cleaner products. I feel like I type this once a week but there's no substitute for stripping them down and getting 100% clean parts. I've settled on vinegar boil then maybe some carb cleaner spray but mostly thinners with rag/q-tip and plenty of airline throughout, this method will slightly grey the exterior but I don't mind it. And I sleep better just knowing they are clean!

It must've been something in one of those tiny little tubes. This'd plagued me for over a year. I even have a can of starter fluid and a cardboard plate to cover one air filter in my bag behind the seat. But having a bike that fires up instantly is just soooo good! Using vinegar is a brilliant idea btw. If my carbs ever block up again (when) I'll boil them. Thanks!
