Hi all, So I just got a 1987 454LTD recently, and removed the airbox. Now I need to figure out what all i can and cannot remove and what to block off for the emmisions system. What do I do about the port on the round cover directly below the airbox? And can I remove the vacuum unit that connects to the valve cover by two short hoses, and feeds back to the airbox with a long hose? And what do I do about the two vacuum lines that run to the carb from the peacock? Will they still make vacuum from the carb without the emmisions system hooked up? I feel as if I may be misnaming parts, I’m more of a two stroke dirtbike guy haha but I came across this bike and had to have it for a project. FYI I did just adjust the valves yesterday, have pod filters ready to install as well as a jetting kit.

Welcome.....You can block off the vacuum on the right carb & just keep the one on the left for the petcock....The round cover is a engine & should have a small filter on it......Do a search there are many tips & tricks for pods.....Like the hose that was on the breather can be cut to you keep the bottom half & just put a filter on the hose..

This thread has a link to a PAIR removal kit (last link at the bottom), which is what you're talking about in the first half of your question. A super cheap and easy mod. Just did mine and havent run it yet so can't speak to the results yet.
