I have no compression on my engine. I figure I need new piston rings but I can't find a set anywhere. Does anyone know where I can buy some as a set?

You have adjusted the valves, right...on both cylinders? Tight valves will kill compression...and even with worn rings, you should have some compression. If you have 0 compression, it is possible that you could have a hole in a piston.

I haven't adjusted the valves yet. I read a wited up on it but I am having trouble figuring out which valves are the exhaust.

Yeah, it’s probably just needs a valve adjustment. Exhaust valves are at the front and the intake are at the back. It seems like an intimidating job but once you do it you realize it’s not so bad.

The valve adjustment hasn't helped much. both cylinders are 30 psi and lower. Does anyone know how to get into the pistons? do you have to remove the cams . or is there some way to get the chain off the sprockets?

First, you need a manual....Do not attempt to tear the engine down without one. The head and jugs (cylinders) have to be removed...this is not a simple job for someone that has never done it, which includes removal of cams, head, and cylinders...and when re-assembly, timing has to be properly set. you will need new gaskets, etc. And, when going this far, you really should do a valve job. basically, what we call a "top-end re-build".

I understand that when new ring are installed you can experience low compression until oil gets into the rings. Perhaps it sat for a while and the oil had drained from the rings and that’s the cause. It’s hard to imagine both cylinders developing bad rings at the same time. Can you tell us more about the condition of the bike?

I would think a bad head gasket would be more likely than bad piston rings. It just doesn’t sound right.

I can't tell you much about the bike because I don't know much my self. I got it practically in pieces. I know that it had no oil in it because the drain plug was missing. I currently have the engine out of the frame and I'm using a battery and jumper cables to get the starter going to check compression.

I hope you have oil in it. Put a little bit of oil in each cylinder thru the spark plug holes..that will get the cylinders oiled. Spinning the engine with dry cylinders can easily damage them.

So had put oil in before but I wanted to be sure there was enough and I definitely over did it. I can hear the Pistons making a water pressure hoping noise and oil leaking out of the exauhst. But the compression come up to. 60 psi on both. I'm hoping if I let it sit a while some will leak by and I can try the compression again with more success.

Hello..! I'm from Mexico and I'm new on the forum. I have the same problem. Mi en450 does spark but she does not start.
She has 30 psi on the righ cylinder and 20 on the other one. I bought her a few months ago and I just know she was sat for 4-5 years.
I've done a valve adjustment and still not start.
What can I try?
Note: She does not have the air filters.
