I just hooked everything back together and I can’t get be engine to turn over. When I turn the key on I can bypass the starter solenoid by taking some need nose pliers and bridging the two terminals on the solenoid but I can’t get the electric start to work. I also just bought a brand new starter solenoid so I know it’s not that. What should I be checking next

Could be the ignition switch or the starter push button. When you jump the starter solenoid, it is the same as running the positive battery cable direct to the starter.

The starter can be connected directly to a battery for testing purposes, probably easier with jump leads and definitely don't use any thinner wire than what you see on the starter leads. Bear in mind it will probably work in reverse so get the polarity right. There's a few reasons why power might not be getting to the starter and you don't say if you've been through each step to check for 12v, still its worth giving the starter a quick hotwire and hopefully that makes all the right noises. Btw I'm presuming you've checked you can turn the engine by hand and it's definitely in neutral?

When I bypass the starter solenoid I am getting power to the starter and it is turning the bike over. Besides the kick stand switch are there other safety switches that would prevent the bike from turning over? I have my neutral light on but is there some electrical that plugs into the transmission I am missing
