I can't get my clutch lever to work. My neutral light will come on if I'm in gear for neutral but if I'm in first and try to start the bike with the clutch in the bike tries to take off. I've adjusted the cable at the lever on the crank case. But no matter how loose out tight I make it nothing. I opened the side and everything looks good even the clutch plate look good. Also I can switch from first to neutral without using the clutch in the handle bars. Can't do second though

Sitting still, the bike will only go into first gear. the bike must be moving to shift up into 2nd, third, etc....it's a "safety" feature the Kawasaki folks engineered. Has the bike been sitting for a good while? the clutch plates could be stuck, if the bike tries take off, when starting in first gear.

If the lever will not move, then you may have a stuck cable.....

Let the clutch out a few times & they should break free.....Put front wheel against a wall will work too.

Clutch plates were stuck together. I ended up pulling the plates out and separating them with my hands. After that everything was working. Working the clutch lever wasn't enough.
