So I recently rebuilt my petcok in 2 stages in order to fix a fuel leak. Replaced all the seals first and after it didn’t stop, I replaced the diaphragm since it’s the oem vacuum actuated petcock. Since the rebuild I’ve noticed that fuel is barely running to the carbs(have clear inline filter). The first round of rebuild, I had to oil the seal that seats against the back of the flow selector since it was very hard to turn. This fixed the issue since I’m thinking the rubber on two dry metal surfaces was causing the dragging and I’m pretty sure I was right. Fast forward, My thought is that maybe the little o-ring that sits on the plunger that’s attached to the diaphram needs to be lubed/oiled as well so it can be pulled all the way out? I’m thinking it’s either this or a lack of vacuum from the carbs, but all my lines are new and have hose clamps at every connection so I’m doubtful of this option.
Anyone have any thoughts? I got irritated and took out my fuel filter so it’s a straight shot down to the carbs now and I’m still have the running lean/little to no acceleration issue that goes with it.

Its pretty cheap to fit a non-vacuum tap and cap the carb ports. Respect for trying to get the repair done but I'd have gone for the replacement early on so at least you've got a working tap and some clue as to what the problem was.
