Spotted on an ebay 454 - check out the engine pics, any idea what's going on with the coolant "T" connectors and carbs?

Pretty sure they are not stock carbs but still I have no idea why or how the water system appears to be connected back there!

its the uk spec carbs standard fitting on my uk bike, i think its something to do with carb icing. Amazing! Never heard of it but just read up a little and it seems high humidity can cause icing and not just in cold weather. I'm also in the UK but have an import 454 and the last two seasons I've been chasing an intermittent problem with the bike losing power at cruise then coming back to life at idle, also known as "cruise icing" with ice building up on the throttle plate then melting on idle. I've still got to troubleshoot the IC unit and some other parts and given its previously never done this I'm not convinced its the cause but the symptoms are identical and apparently Kawasaki suffered this problem more than most in the UK! Looks like a bottle of fuel additive would rule this in or out so thanks pys977 its given me something useful to think about with fixing my own bike!

The UK model is only 400 CC...the US model is the full 454 CC, something to do with the UK regulations, at least at that time. As far as I know, the gearing is the same. I do thank you UK guys for the coolant/carb info, as that was new to this ole guy.

EN. and yes the UK regulations/legislation is quite complex as to what and at what age you can ride. thanks mostly to our friends the other side of the channel .
