Riding the other day and I noticed that there was a plug loose next to my foot. Was just wondering what fluid goes in there

I don't usually answer enquiries where you have to work out the question before formulating an answer to give. however as you state the plug is near your foot on the left side you can only be describing the timing cover plugs. the one in the centre is where you can [once removed] turn the engine by hand without having to remove the case. and the top one is so you can see the timing marks while turning the engine by hand. so the answer is nothing goes in there. and if you are so unfamiliar with your bike it is really time you bought a manual for it.

A black screw plug? If so that's the cap for the crankshaft bolt. Is there a fluid leak? Might be a little oil in that area anyway.

Might be a little oil in that area anyway. if it's loose it will leak oil outta there the flywheel. starter clutch, and starter chain are all lubricated with engine oil. there's not much in there but enough to leak out if the plugs are loose or the O rings are damaged or missing.

Oil would leak .
