Hi guys I got a 1985 454ltd I've been building Into a bobber , I've got a lot done and I'm hitting a wall , I have been having trouble getting the bike to run/start and when it does it runs away or idles at 5-7k with no throttle response , I've rebuild and cleaning the carbs petcock and installed a clear fuel filter. I've removed the PAIR and airbox and am using restricted pods. Any help is appreciated

Did you turn down your tick over adjust? Did you make sure you have a good seal between the engine and the carbs, extra air will make it run fast and are you jetted up with more fuel mix than normal?
I know silly questions. I have pods and have rebuilt from scratch my carbs. I forgot to tighten up the hose between the carb and engine and it raced off into 5 - 6 k revs with choke out, and didn't drop much when choke was back in. No revs just screaming. I tightened up the hose, making sure they were air tight and it dropped back to normal tick over.
I may be completely wrong and someone will correct me, but that is exactly what i have done.

Update : thanks for that ,the right side carb hose to the engine was lose so that was probably the cause of the runaway, I haven't done any jetting yet, but since I put the pods on its on the way.
