I just inherited a 1985(?) 454 LTD and I've got some questions.
There are no keys for the bike and the ignition/fork lock and gas cap are locked. Any tips for gaining access? I tried calling a dealer and am told they don't track the #'s of the keys. I have a locksmith who might be able to help but it would be $150 and no guarantee.
Also, the bike hasn't ran in over 10 years. Has been stored inside. Any tips for the right way to bring it back to life?
Thanks!

Take off your helmet locks and look on the backside for a 4 digit key code. Or the code might be on the ignition cylinder. There is a guy on ebay that can cut a new key from that code. Did you happen to get that bike in Alcoa Tn?

Where are the helmet locks? That's good to know about the code!
This bike is from Colorado.

Well I just looked on my bike to see exactly where they are and they are in front of and near the top of the rear shocks. However, I had forgotten that the key is required to open the lock to access the screw that holds it to the frame. And it didnt look like a screwdriver could get at the screw otherwise. If you manage to get it off though, the code is very small, starts with a Z (on my bike anyways), and is 4 numbers. Also, there is no guarantee that someone hasnt switched the ignition, gas cap, and/or helmet locks (which is what I believe happened on my bike.) Sorry

If you look at the gas cap from the side, you will see a small "pin" hole...take a small pin punch and drive the pin out. This will give you access to the two screws that hold the cap on the tank. Then you can take the cap to a locksmith, to cut a new key.
