Hello everyone,
I'm running into an issue of my ignition wires overheating/melting and blowing my 30A, 10A headlight, and 10A taillight fuses every time I try to start my bike up. My '86 was already wired for an aftermarket ignition when I got it but I have since replaced the headlights/taillights/turn signals to aftermarket LEDs. I replaced the flasher relay for the turn signals, as well. I checked out where the smoke was coming from and it appears that the Red/Blue wire in the ignition cluster is the source. Tracing this back to the wiring diagram, this wire is the same one connected to the fuses blowing I'm running into. With my aftermarket lights, do I need higher amp fuses to fix this or install some kind of resistor? Any help is appreciated and let me know if I can clear anything up, thanks!
