Another newbie here ,
When you turn the throttle my slides are not moving i can see the rod attached to to both carbs move but the slides are not moving . Has anyone experienced this ? I am assuming it's vacuum controlled . There was some cracking in the reed hoses . Sorry the issue i am having is i can get it to idle but not rev at all.

i think you will find they opperate by vacuum, as to not running it could be a host of issues. are you running the original air box?

Thank you for replying.
I only have the filters not the covers over them . I purchased the bike from a estate sale ( $ 350.00 ) . It hasn't ran in some years i was told. So following what i've read on here i am in the process of adjusting the valves . Like i mentioned i was able to get it started but not rev. When i was removing the valve cover i noticed the Pair hoses were all split . So i will get rid of them after the valve adjustment .

on the uk version we dont have the hoses just blanking plates, its something to do with the emision laws in the usa. people on this forum who are from the usa have got rid of this set up. if you read through some post you should be able to find out how they have done this. being in the uk i dont have this problem, on top of your carbs there are 4 screws and a cover, take this off and check that the rubber vacuum valve is not perished ie any holes init. try looking on www.cmsnl.com they have all the parts and numbers for these bikes, it makes trying to get things going easier and you can see if anything is missing hope this helps

From what i have been reading on here seems like that may be too much air without the covers on . What do you think ?

years ago i did try pod filters with some success but found the original setup best, the only way is to start as kawaski intended so get the right parts and start from there.
