Ok Guys, I know this topic has been run through many times but I couldn't find my answer on any of the old threads. I took off the carb and took the airbox out. I am planning on putting the pod filters on in the airboxes place as others have done.
My question is what size of filter is the smaller one that stands up out of the crankcase? Also how does the carburetor support itself without the airbox holding up the back side? Seems kinda flimsy to me so I didn't know if some sort of bracket was necessary to hold it.
Thanks in advance. You guys helped me with my last problem and I'm sure I'll have many more.

The crankcase filter I used is a standard motorcycle crankcase filter that goes with pod filters. You use the bottom half of the original breather hose and the filter will push into the cut top.No bracket is needed to hold the carbs up,if the front boots are in good shape.Check out this link: ltd454.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=2586

Ok. I have read that thread many times before deciding to try this mod myself. I guess I just wasnt aware that there was a special crankcase filter that would fit. So from what I'm understanding, these filters are a universal size and if I buy a motorcycle crankcase filter, it will fit? Also if this is the case, do you guys know a good name brand?

Yes.In the second you see the hose, you just use the bottom half.Emgo is the most popular brand.

I remember reading in a thread somewhere that someone used a chrome valve cover breather from a chevy.

Thanks guys. I brought the little crooked hose from the top of the breather to town with me today to make sure I get a good fit with whatever I end up getting. I live a ways out in the country so I hate making extra trips.
Hopefully the project will go smoothly from now on. I ordered some different jets to try out and got some washers for shims. I love this forum. It has helped me learn a lot from just starting out.
